Welcome! I'm a scholar-teacher working at the intersection of Rhetoric/Composition and community engagement. I am an Associate Professor in the Composition and Rhetoric program at University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
I am the Director of the Nebraska Writing Project, I work with high school-college writing collaboration programs like Husker Writers, and I teach graduate and undergraduate classes such as Literacy and Community Issues, Writing for Change: Crafting and Drafting State Policy, and Composition Theory and Practice.
My research is focused on engaged pedagogies. My first book, Rewriting Partnerships: Community Perspectives on Community-Based Learning, won the 2021 IARSLCE Publication of the Year Award, as well as the 2021 Coalition for Community Writing Outstanding Book Award. My next book, currently in process, focuses on collaborative writing across university-community lines.
